The coast occupies the south and it goes along the Adriatic Sea. There are numerous bays and little peninsulas.The biggest bay is Boka Kotorska Bay which enters into land for about 20 km. Between this part and continental part there is the Dinara mountain chain whose peaks can reach up to 1600 m.

The average summer temperature is between 23,4-25,6 C. Summer is ling and dry and winter is short and moderate .Swimming season is from the end of April till the end of October. The beaches are very different, from sandy to rocky beaches.

The central part is divided into two parts. The Dinara mountain chain rises above the coast. Fertile parts are narrow and rare.

The other part are plains: The National Park of the Lake Skadar, the river Zeta valley, the Bjelopavlici plain and the Niksic plain. Niksic and Podgorica are two industrial parts also situated in this part. The average summer temperatures are very high and the average winter temperatures never go 5 C bellow zero.

Mountain area occupies the north of the country. The climate is sub mountain with cold and snowy winters and moderate summers.

Beautiful mountain chains are cut with forest and mountain lakes.the rivers Piva, Tara and Moraca made beautiful canyons. There are two national parks: Biogradska Gora nearby Kolasin and Durmitor with Tara canyon which is under protection og UNESCO.

The Rozaje region is very specific for its Ibar valley. Thick forest, long trekking path, numerous gorges, canyons and caves are the reason to come and visit the Rozaje region.
